Why is it Needed to Repeat the Analysis of a Sample?

Our laboratory sometimes has to repeat the analysis of a sample. In this article, we will analyze the reasons why this can happen and how you can contribute to this happening as few times as possible.

When we decide to know the sex of our birds or make early detection of possible diseases, thanks to the online work system of the BBI Laboratories, we know that the process. In addition to being very reliable, it is fast, simple and totally online.

The user of any of the services we provide should only send a sample of the bird’s feathers or a few drops of blood. From this moment on, it is the laboratory that makes the rest of the process.

Thanks to the wide experience of our laboratory in the sector and our highly trained human team, the results are usually available in relatively tight timeframes from the date  the material is received:

  • DNA sexing (4-8 days)
  • Express Sexing (2-4 days)
  • PBFD (4-10 days)
  • DNA Sexing + PBFD (4-10 days)
  • Psitacosis Express (2-5 days)
  • Bird Secure Plus Express (2-5 days)

There will be some cases in which the sample analysis has to be repeated, and then the time of receipt of the results can be lengthened. However, the user of the service will always be informed of such delay through our online system.

Reasons to Repeat the Analysis of a Sample

If the sample sent is a feather:

  • Technicians decide to repeat the analyses to make sure the result obtained is accurate
  • The quantity or quality of DNA extracted from the feathers is not enough to ensure DNA amplification

If the sample is blood, the test will be repeated if the two technicians who have separately performed the test do not reach a common conclusion when comparing the results.

Thus, when repeating the analysis of a sample, the results offered to our users will be totally reliable.

Remember that at BBI Laboratories we are specialists in DNA sexing of birds and detection of bird diseases. You can also follow us on our main social networks (FacebookTwitterInstagram) where we share relevant information about our activity and the world of birds.
